Marc Webb wants Kraven the Hunter to appear in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’

His logo was spotted in the end title sequence of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and there may be a good reason for that as Marc Webb has revealed his desire to have Kraven the Hunter appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
Many fans assumed that Doctor Octopus or Vulture would be the main villains in the next movie due to the fact that their weapons were seen in Oscorp in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, the latest movie had three villains, so it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility for them AND Kraven to appear.
When asked which villain he’d most like to use next, Webb replied. “Kraven. I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always thought the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting.”
It’s interesting that Mysterio and Scorpion are also mentioned, but Webb seems particularly keen on using Kraven!
In the comics, Kraven was a famous big game hunter who became a mercenary and later developed an intense obsession with restoring honor to his name. That led to him targeting Spider-Man, and an adaptation of Kraven’s Last Hunt would certainly be very interesting to see!

Cinefex was nice enough to provide Spider-Man News with an exclusive excerpt from the upcoming issue. Check it out below:
For Spider-Man’s primary adversary — the glowing, electrically-charged Electro — visual effects assisted special makeup effects. KNB co-founder Gregory Nicotero initiated Electro concepts with KNB conceptual designer John Wheaton, producing Photoshop renderings that were then laid onto images of Jamie Foxx. We hit on a design very quickly, remarked Nicotero’s business partner, makeup effects supervisor Howard Berger, who implemented the prosthetics. We did maybe three rounds of designs. That’s unusual, but Marc Webb knew exactly what he wanted. To avoid inhibiting Jamie Foxx’s performance, the KNB team opted to create very thin prosthetics in silicone. Lead sculptor Norman Cabrera developed test makeups using lifecasts of Foxx that KNB had generated for ‘Django Unchained.’ Norman did a beautiful job on the first pass, observed Berger. We created an eight- or nine-piece makeup from that. Marc selected three colors that he liked and we ran a set of each. Makeup artist Peter Montagna and I flew to New York, and in one day we tested them on Jamie, with different dentures and contact lenses.

Felicity Jones’ mysterious character featured in unseen still from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’

Felicity Jones made only a very brief appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but a quick mention of her character’s name from Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn may be all we need to know about what the future has in store for her.
“Felicia” is believed to be a reference to Felicia Hardy, better known as The Black Cat (part-time crook, sometime Spider-Man love interest).
The image above is a previously unseen still from the Marc Webb helmed prequel, and while it doesn’t really show us anything new, it does offer up a great look at the stunning actress who will more than likely be suiting up as The Black Cat!
Would you like to see Felicity get a bigger role in The Amazing Spider-Man 3?

More alternate designs for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ featuring the Green Goblin

Of all the villains featured in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the redesign of the Green Goblin has proven to be the most controversial with comic book fans. A mixture of costume and mutation, it’s neither fully classic or Ultimate.
Man of Steel concept artist Long Ouyang has now revealed some alternative designs for the character played by Dane DeHaan in the sequel.

New featurettes for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ look at Times Square and Rhino creation

More featurettes for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 take us behind the scenes of Spider-Man and Electro’s Times Square battle, revealing exactly how Sony recreated the iconic location through a mixture of practical and special effects.
They obviously couldn’t use the real-life location, so to see the lengths they went to are a fascinating sight to behold in the video below.
Meanwhile, the other new featurette offers up a look at how they brought Paul Giamatti’s Rhino to life on the big screen, taking us from the actor being on the New York set in a bizarre looking contraption to the final shot of the fully CGI villain preparing to charge at Spider-Man in the sequel’s closing minutes.

Concept Art Reveals More On Mary Jane’s Deleted ‘Amazing Spider-Man3 ’ Scenes

UPDATE: At the request of Sony Pictures Entertainment, the concept art was removed but you can still read a detailed description of the scene below!
Last week, Marc Webb revealed some extremely vague details about Shailene Woodley’s deleted scenes as Mary Jane Watson in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’. He didn’t go into much detail about what those scenes entailed, but instead he gave us a tiny taste of what could have been. Well, a new interview has emerged with a concept artist on the film that outlines one scene in its entirety.
In an interview with Film Sketchr, artist Gregory Hill talked about the various pieces of concept art that he created for the second film in the rebooted Spidey series. You can check them all out at this site, but one in particular stood out because it happened to be one of the deleted Mary Jane scenes. You can check out the artwork above, but here’s Hill’s explanation of what’s going on:
Shailene Woodley Mary Jane Watson“In the script MJ and her father have recently moved in next door to Peter and his Aunt… He’s run into her a few times, and seen that her father has a habit of getting drunk and treating MJ badly. If I remember right, the scene I illustrated has her dad going into the garage, and suddenly getting hoisted upside down from the rafters….where he meets Spider-Man. And gets a dressing down for how badly he treats his daughter. I think that’s about the only MJ scene which was originally in the script… no, there was one other where she and Gwen briefly meet outside Peter’s house. There is a funny story to this too. After I finished the drawing, I had it on my desk as I moved on to something else. When I looked up there was this guy standing beside me, looking at the garage drawing, but he had it turned upside down. We exchanged ‘Hi’s’ and he left. Later I heard a major discussion going on around the desk of the set designer who was drafting the garage, and the designer said ‘It’s all Greg Hill’s fault.’ Turns out the guy looking at my drawing was Marc Webb, and he had asked that the garage set be built upside down.
Marc was looking at the sketch right side up first I assume…. and figuring out what would be CGI, etc. Then when he turned the drawing, he realized that he could basically shoot the scene with little or no CGI work if he built the set upside down… then Spidey could act naturally… even walk around. I never saw any footage so I don’t know how they ended up doing it however. I assume they built the set upside down… which would be a lot cheaper than adding VFX to a whole scene.”
In my opinion, I’m glad that they cut this scene. As funny as it sounds, the important dynamic of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ was between Gwen and Peter. If Peter had swooped into MJ’s life and defended her like this, it would have split his attention between the two girls. If that happened, no matter how briefly, then the film wouldn’t have packed as much of an emotional punch as it did.
What do you think of this deleted scene from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ featuring Mary Jane Watson? Would you have liked to see those scenes that Shailene Woodley shot remain in the film? Do you hope that they at least appear on the home video release? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3′ starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field is in theaters now.
